Israeli Strikes in Gaza Kill 11, Including Three Journalists
Israeli forces killed at least 11 people in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, Gaza health officials said, including three Palestinian journalists who the Israeli military said were flying a drone. The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate, a labor union, said the three men were documenting the "suffering of civilians in displacement camps." The Israeli military said they were operating a drone that was "affiliated with Hamas" and that its forces believed it posed a threat. The Israeli military said the details of the incident were under examination. The three journalists were identified as Abdel Raouf Shaath, Mohammad Salah Qishta and Anas Ghneim by the journalists' union.

UN Security Council to vote on Trump peace plan for Gaza
The UN Security Council is expected to vote on a draft resolution backing Donald Trump's peace plan for Gaza. The text, submitted by the US, would give a mandate for the deployment of an International Stabilization Force (ISF) and to set up transitional governance there. The US says multiple unnamed countries have offered to contribute to the ISF, though it is unclear whether it would be required to ensure Hamas disarms or function as a peacekeeping force. Its formation is a central plank of Trump's 20-point plan which last month brought a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in their two-year war. The draft also raises the possibility of a Palestinian state - something Israel strongly opposes.

Israeli drone attack on Gaza aid convoy kills 12 as hunger crisis deepens
An Israeli attack on Palestinian security guards escorting a humanitarian aid shipment in the Gaza Strip has killed at least 12 people and injured dozens, Al Jazeera Arabic's correspondents on the ground and news agencies report. Medics and local residents told the Reuters news agency that at least 30 people were injured, including several in critical condition, following the Israeli attack on Thursday that targeted civilian guards tasked with securing the aid convoy in the southern part of the war-torn enclave. A video clip shared by local Palestinian media in Gaza showed bodies stacked in a morgue that were reported to be the aid convoy's security personnel who were targeted west of Khan Younis. The attack is only the latest by Israeli forces on humanitarian aid workers, convoys and those trying to assist the safe entry of food and other supplies into war-torn Gaza, which is gripped by food shortages and fears of famine in the north of the territory, where an Israeli military ground operation and siege have been ongoing for several weeks. On Sunday night, at least 10 Palestinian people were killed while lining up to buy flour in an Israeli attack on Rafah, which is also in the south of the Gaza Strip.

Houthis claim attack on central Israel in response to Gaza 'massacres'
Yemen's Houthi group says it has carried out a drone attack in central Israel's Tel Aviv area in "a specific military operation" in support of Palestinians in Gaza. The Houthis said in a statement on Monday that their forces struck "a sensitive target of the Israeli enemy". An Israeli military statement said a drone hit a building in the city of Yavne after air defence systems failed to detect it and an investigation into the failure is under way. The Houthis said the operation "achieved its objective" without providing details. No injuries were reported in the attack, which caused damage to several apartments in the building, according to Israeli media reports.

Secret meeting between US, Israel, UAE held to discuss postwar plans for Gaza
Israel strikes Yemen Houthis Dek: Israel launched its first ever strikes against Houthi rebels in Yemen just days after Jerusalem vowed revenge from a drone strike on Tel Aviv. A secret meeting between the U.S., Israel and the United Arab Emirates has been held to discuss a potential strategy on how the Gaza Strip will be governed once there is an end to the months-long war, Fox News confirmed Tuesday. The meeting, held in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, suggests that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may be looking to establish a plan for Gaza once the war is over, following repeated calls for a cease-fire. But details on the Thursday meeting – first reported by Axios – remain scarce, and it is unclear if options for ending the war were also discussed. Smoke and flames rise in the wake of an Israeli airstrike in Gaza on Nov. 2, 2023.

Israeli-deployed AI in Gaza likely helps IDF reduce civilian casualties, expert says
After loudly touting the use of artificial intelligence (AI) during their 11-day conflict against Hamas in 2021, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have been fairly tight-lipped about the AI systems they've employed in the post-Oct. Numerous media outlets have speculated that Israel's AI platforms are being used recklessly, but Blaise Misztal, Vice President for Policy at the Jewish Institute for National Security of America (JINSA), told Fox News Digital that he believes Israel is using AI-powered drone swarms, mapping drones and targeting systems as a means to minimize civilian casualties as they seek out Hamas terrorists hiding among the populace or holed up in tunnel systems laced beneath civilian architecture. Misztal says that available evidence implies drones are a "near constant companion for ground troops as they're maneuvering through Gaza," with the IDF telling JINSA researchers that "each unit has its own mini-Air Force" supporting troop movements. A number of AI-powered drones may be mapping the underground tunnels built below Gaza, or protecting those who are traversing them as they seek out terrorists or hostages. Iris, a ground-based, throwable unit manufactured by Elbit Systems "can enter small and confined spaces, above or underground, to explore hazardous areas while relaying intelligence and reconnaissance information in real-time."

Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen claim they shot down another US drone as attacks intensify
The Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen claimed on Tuesday they shot down an American drone over the impoverished Arab country. The U.S. military did not immediately acknowledge the claim. If confirmed, this would be the second MQ-9 Reaper drone downed by the Houthis over the past week as they press their campaign over the Israel-Hamas war in the Gaza Strip. Last Friday, the Houthis claimed downing an American drone over the province of Marib, hours after footage circulated online of what appeared to be the wreckage of an MQ-9 Reaper. And early Saturday, a vessel also came under attack in the Red Sea.

White House investigating reports Israel used AI to identify bombing targets in Gaza and create a 'kill list' of 37,000 Palestinians suspected of being militants
The White House revealed it is looking into reports the Israeli army has been using an AI system to populate its'kill list' of alleged Hamas terrorists, hours after President Joe Biden's call with Benjamin Netanyahu. The report cited six Israeli intelligence officers, who admitted to using an AI called'Lavender' to classify as many as 37,000 Palestinians as suspected militants -- marking these people and their homes as acceptable targets for air strikes. White House national security spokesperson John Kirby told CNN on Thursday that the reports had not been verified, but they were investigating. Israel has vehemently denied the AI's role with an army spokesperson describing the system as'auxiliary tools that assist officers in the process of incrimination.' However, during the call Biden reportedly threatened that he would condition the US' support for the attack in Gaza if the Israeli government didn't protect civilians and aid workers from offensive assaults.

USS Carney shoots down drones, missile fired by Houthis in Yemen
U.S. destroyer USS Carney shot down drones and a missile fired toward it in the Red Sea by Yemen's Houthi rebels, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced Wednesday. USS Carney, an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer that has been involved in the American campaign against the Iranian-backed rebels, shot down one anti-ship ballistic missile and three one-way attack unmanned aerial systems launched from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Sanaa time, CENTCOM said. Several hours later, CENTCOM forces destroyed three anti-ship missiles and three unmanned surface vessels (USV) in self-defense. The missiles and USVs were located in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen. "CENTCOM forces identified the missiles, UAVs, and USVs and determined that they presented an imminent threat to merchant vessels and to the U.S. Navy ships in the region," CENTCOM said in a statement.

At least 11 Palestinians killed after Israel hits tent camp in Rafah
Israeli forces have hit a tent in Rafah housing displaced Palestinians, killing at least 11 people, according to local authorities, hours after 17 people were killed in attacks elsewhere in the Gaza Strip. At least 50 people were injured in Saturday's drone attack, which took place next to the entrance of the Al-Helal Al-Emirati Maternity Hospital in Tal as-Sultan, Rafah City, Gaza's Ministry of Health said in a statement. The ministry said Abdel Fattah Abu Marhi, the head of the paramedic unit at the hospital, was killed, and that children were among the injured. "A tent filled with displaced evacuees in the area, including an entire family, has been directly hit by a drone strike," said Al Jazeera's Hani Mahmoud, reporting from Rafah. He said eight of the bodies had been taken to the Kuwait Hospital "where the scene is very chaotic" as the small facility is unprepared for the large number of injuries arriving there.
